BBQ Competition
Who doesn’t love a little friendly competition? In case it wasn’t clear that we take our barbecue seriously, this event is officially sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). Two KCBS representatives will be in attendance to oversee the proceedings, so you know that $15,000 grand prize is going to be earned the right way. Do you think you can handle the heat? Find the BBQ team registration right here. Our four standard categories are: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork, Beef Brisket and Bourbon. The top ten places in each of the five base categories—as well as the Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Third Runner Up—will be awarded cash prizes.
Live Blues Music
Each year, premier blues bands flood the stage to deliver soulful sounds that are just as epic as what’s on your plate. Shows are held throughout both days of the festival, so you can catch a concert whenever it’s convenient for you. Fortunately, none of the KCBS representatives will be judging your dancing, so go ahead and let loose.
